“We Went Away From Our Plan” Smith and Chahal React to Chennai ODI – The Quint

The Australian captain Steve Smith said that the men in yellow went away from their plan during the first ODI against India in Chennai. India defeated Australia by 26 runs (DLS method) on Sunday. Smith said that Australia didn’t capitalize on the good start given by Nathan Coulter-Nile and Marcus Stoinis and that MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya batted brilliantly. India’s leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who picked up 3 wickets for 30 runs, said that the team was thinking of a total of around 230-240 runs. However, MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya’s partnership of 118 runs helped India post 281/7 in 50 overs. Due to a rain delay, the target for Australia was revised to 164 runs in 21 overs. Pro Kabaddi League Highlights: UP Yoddha vs Telegu Titans – The Quint

In a thrilling encounter UP Yoddha won their debut match in Vivo Pro Kabaddi League as they beat Telugu Titans 31-18.
Telugu Titans lost their third match on their trot as their dismal start to the season continued. Telugu Titans were let down badly by their defence as they could score just four points. Rahul Chaudhari scored seven points for Telugu Titans but it wasn’t enough.
UP Yoddha star man Nitin Tomar opened his team account in the first minute with a raid. Telugu Titans scored two quick raid points to lead 2-1 after three minutes. Nitin Tomar scored another raid point to level the game at 3-3 after four minutes.

As It Happened: Massive Batting Collapse Costs India the World Cup – The Quint

It was a case of ‘so near and yet so far’ for India as they suffered a spectacular middle and lower order batting collapse to lose by nine runs to England in a nail-biting final of the ICC Women’s World Cup on Sunday.
Electing to bat first, England produced a competitive total of 228 for seven in their 50 overs. The Indian eves rode on half-centuries from opener Punam Raut and Harmanpreet Kaur to almost overhauling the target.
Punam scored 86 runs off 115 balls while Harmanpreet scored 51 off 80. Punam and Harmanpreet added 95 runs between them in 128 balls and helped to steady the Indian innings following the loss of two early wickets.
However, the Indian eves lost their grasp on the match towards the end, losing seven wickets for just 28 runs to be all out for 219 runs in 48.4 overs. Pacer Anya Shrubsole was the most successful among the England bowlers with figures of 6/46 in 9.4 overs.
